Introduction

Working principle
- Particle Fluidization: The operation initiates with the introduction of pharmaceutical particles into the machine’s chamber. Controlled airflow is applied, inducing fluidization, wherein the particles behave like a suspended fluidized bed.
- Wetting and Nucleation: A liquid binder or solution is uniformly sprayed onto the fluidized particles, initiating wetting and nucleation. This process facilitates the binding of the liquid to the particle surfaces, starting the formation of small granules.
- Granule Growth: Through collisions and adhesion, the wetted particles continue to grow into larger granules. The controlled conditions in the fluidized bed contribute to the desired attributes of the granules, including size, density, and porosity.
- Drying Phase: After granule formation, the machine enters a drying phase where hot air is directed through the fluidized bed. This evaporates the liquid content from the granules, leaving behind dry and well-defined pharmaceutical granules.
